The seed parent of this cross has the most insanely red petiolar plexus, veins & almost purple petioles. Combined with the spidery veins, dark leaf colour & overlapping lobes, it's such an attractive specimen.
The pollen parent is insanely dark, with gorgeous velvety texture & mauve emergent abaxials. Siblings of this plant have some crazy red/purple colours in their petiolar plexus & abaxial veins.
Honestly my goal with this hybrid, is combining the best traits of both parents: the strong red traits of the seed parent with the velvet texture of the pollen parent, maybe with the large overlapping lobes of the seed parent? 👀
I think given that siblings of the seed parent seem to pass along red traits quite readily, combined with my suspicion that the pollen parent likely has recessive red/purple veining traits; there are good odds that atleast some of the offspring will have nice red/purple veins.
However, due to the nature of genetics, I can make no promises. These hypotheses are based purely on my past breeding experiences.
