Anthurium 'Michelin Man' x pap lux
To be honest, I've never been the biggest fan of first generation lux hybrids. After stumbling across Jay Vannini's 'Hobgoblin' (dress lux x dress), it opened my eyes to the potential of second generation luxurians hybrids.
In my opinion second generation lux hybrids, especially using complex genetics are much more exciting & should provide a greater amount of variability amongst the offspring - especially in terms of texture.
My goal with this hybrid is hopefully to end up with some offspring with incredibly bullate texture, more velvet than the pollen parent, but possibly less velvet than the seed parent. Or even just the shape & bullate texture of the pollen parent, but with the velvet texture of the seed parent.
Either way, I expect a decent amount of variability amongst the seedlings produced by this cross & I can't wait to see how they turn out.
