The seed parent (dress x #ReverseBlackCherry) is near-black with a clean shape and pillowy texture. Deep red abaxial veins and a red petiolar plexus that stays visible, plus red running through the adaxial veins.
The pollen parent (‘Michelle’ f2) is a classic red crystal - emergents come in maroon-purple and harden off black. Red tones hold strong across both leaf surfaces, especially on mature growth.
The goal? Keep the form and texture from the seed parent, but dial up the veining and bring even more red and purple to the table.
